Jia’s Favorite Travel Destinations: Old Orchard Beach, ME
Written by Devin Cole

I am back in the U.S. and summer is winding down but I want to get some more relaxing in before I go back to NYC. This time I took a trip to Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Much different from the beaches I explored in Grenada, the water is much colder but it is just a beautiful. Old Orchard Beach is a great destination for family vacations. With games, rides, and a variety of sweet treats on the boardwalk for kids and, bars, an assortment of delectable seafood, and shops oozing with New England charm for adults, it is a choice that everyone can agree on!

The amusement park on the boardwalk.

Have a drink and listen to a live band on the pier.
Portland:
Picnic Music+Arts Festival

I absolutely loved these hand-printed leather bags by Shara Porter.
WCSH 6 Auto Show

WCSH6 Sidewalk Art Festival

If the artwork isn't enough to keep your attention, there are also street performers and live musicians at the festival.

The work featured at the festival ranged from modern like this piece by Melissa Post van der Burg (left) to the historical like this painting of General Robert E. Lee from 1869 (right).

Gilbert's Chowder House.
And of course while you are in Portland you have to try some authentic New England clam chowder! I would suggest Gilbert’s Chowder House. They have kept me coming back year after year (don’t forget to order the bread bowl!).
Now I feel energized and ready to take on the craziness of Fashion Week!
